Surrey Crossroads - Spelthorne first started in Spelthorne in 1988 to meet the needs of carers for respite. We are based at the Community Link Centre, Knowle Green, Staines, Middlesex, TW18 1XA and can be contacted by phone by calling 01784 446294. Our office opening hours to the public are 9:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, or we are available by appointment at other times. Messages can be left on the answer phone outside of public opening hours. Who can benefit from Crossroads Services? If you are caring constantly at home for someone who is frail or who has a disability or illness, whatever their age, we will do our very best to help you even if you are getting help from other services. How do I get help? You can contact us by telephone on 01784 446294 or by filling in our online contact form and a member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible. We can then arrange to visit you at home and assess whether we can help. Then you will be introduced to a carer support worker who has been chosen to suit your needs. How often do we provide help? This can be varied to meet your needs. Carer support workers work during the day, evenings and at the weekends. You may need one for a couple of hours, on a planned regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, or perhaps on an occasional basis. Crossroads works on planned care and cannot offer a crisis or emergency service. What sort of help will you provide? We will provide personal care for the patient, as well as assistance with getting meals and using the toilet. We will provide company for the person and undertake various activities such as taking for walks or to a café, reading or playing games as appropriate to the person concerned and as agreed in advance. Who are the Carer support workers?A carer support worker is carefully chosen and trained before working in your home. They are also police checked before they start work with Crossroads. The carer support worker will be sensitive to your role and expertise as a carer and can replace you on a temporary basis and enable you to take a break. We are also regulated by the Commission for Social Care Inspection. How much does it cost?Surrey Crossroads - Spelthorne provides a free service. We are a registered charity and are financed from different sources including Surrey County Council, local Hospital Trusts, Health and Social services, local businesses, and individual donations. The manager, office staff, and carer support workers are paid employees of the charity. Donations and contributions are always welcomed and needed to supplement the care hours provided. |
